The New England Patriots have a tough upcoming 2020 season schedule ahead of them, but which game will the Patriots have the best chance of winning?

Week 17: New York Jets

Almost every year, the New England Patriots find a way to beat the New York Jets. Despite the losses for the Patriots, the Patriots should still be able to take down the Jets at Gillette Stadium in the last game of the regular season. In the last 18 seasons, the Patriots have a winning record of 121-23 games at home. The Patriots have a winning record of 14-3 against the Jets at Gillette Stadium in the regular season. The Patriots have many new players coming onto the team for the upcoming season, such as Jarrett Stidham and the ten signed draft picks from the 2020 NFL Draft. Losing Tom Brady is a big loss, but Jarrett Stidham has great potential and is predicted to be the next big quarterback for the Patriots. Also, losing Rob Gronkowski is another big loss, even though he was gone last season as well, but the two draft picks Devin Asiasi and Dalton Keene should be a great duo for the Patriots’ offense. The Patriots’ biggest reason for their success is Bill Belichick. Belichick has the third-most wins of any coach in NFL history with 273 wins. Belichick has the most wins among active NFL head coaches. Bill Belichick almost always finds a way to beat the Jets and, adding the advantage of a home game, the Patriots should win on Week 17.

Why the Jets

The Jets have not had a positive record since their 2015 season. The Jets were also the second-lowest team in the NFL for points per game average, with an average of 17.2 points. The Jets drafted Sam Darnold in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft and he had his rookie season last year. Darnold played in 13 games, threw 19 touchdowns, and threw 13 interceptions. The young quarterback suffered many injuries last season and has missed a total of six games from injuries, six being in the 2019 season. The Jets have picked up the free agent Joe Flacco and hope to get a good season out of him. Last season, the Jets went 7-9 and were third in the AFC East, only above the 5-11 Miami Dolphins. Overall, the Patriots have a very good chance of beating the Jets and should be united enough as a team in Week 17 to defeat the Jets.
