The Daily Dollar

Welcome to an NFL best bets edition of the Daily Dollar. After a successful run of gambling on Major League Baseball, the focus shifts to the gridiron. This early in the season, Vegas has yet to catch up. It’s time to take advantage of their errors on spreads to build your bankroll, so let’s get right into it. If you play nice, I’ll toss in a baseball lock at the end.

Sunday Funday

Arizona Cardinals -3.5 (-110) vs. Minnesota Vikings

This is the easiest bet on the Week 2 slate, and will pad your wallet before primetime football. The Cardinals absolutely took apart a 2020 playoff team in the Tennessee Titans during Week 1, as Kyler Murray accounted for five touchdowns. On defense, Arizona’s Chandler Jones logged five sacks in what could be the start of a DMVP season. The Cardinals get a Minnesota team limping in with multiple injuries and was lucky to even force overtime before the loss in Cincinnati to the Bengals. As I said in our Week 2 Expert Picks, this spread is completely wrong. Lay the points, take the money, don’t look back.

Book it: Arizona -3.5 (-110)

Pittsburgh Steelers -6 (-110) vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Las Vegas had a feel-good victory in their overtime win against the Baltimore Ravens in their “Death Star” stadium debut with home fans. Contrary to popular belief, the Raiders are a good team and should be a wild card threat this season. With that said, rumors of the Steelers’ decline have been greatly exaggerated. Boasting one of the best defenses in the NFL, they will give the Raiders fits twice what Baltimore did. Ben Roethlisberger may not scramble much anymore, but he can still throw and has a bevy of weapons at his disposal. A big game from Chase Claypool or Diontae Johnson looks to be in the cards. This is a two-touchdown victory for Pittsburgh against an underrated Las Vegas squad.

Book it: Pittsburgh -6 (-110)

Tennessee Titans at Seattle Seahawks u54 (-110)

There are a whopping five games with Vegas totals over 50 this week, and a few more sniffing the mark. It’s early in the season and the weather is conducive to throwing the football. The Titans are coming off of a beatdown at the hands of Arizona and will look to take back their identity, which is pounding the ball with Derrick Henry and running the clock. After a high-flying aerial attack against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Seattle is welcoming the Titans in for the home opener and the 12th man will play a role in this game. Seattle would like nothing more than to pound the rock with Chris Carson and keep the Titans off the field. Add it up: Two teams want to run, the crowd noise is choice, and Seattle wins a squeaker. No matter what, this game is not hitting 50, let alone 54.

Book it: Seattle/Tennessee under 54 points scored

Bonus Baseball: Sunday Night Edition

Philadelphia Phillies +110 at New York Mets

The Phillies might be on the outside looking in for the latest playoff picture, but the Mets are even further out and aren’t likely to make much more than a whimper the rest of the way. Rich Hill toes the mound for New York and is prone to the long ball, particularly in crucial situations. For Philadelphia, every game is a must-win and they should come out swinging for the fences. They’ll put a few over the wall (even in a pitchers’ park), former Ranger Kyle Gibson will finally step into the role they traded for, and the Phillies maintain relevance for another day.

Book it: Philadelphia ML +110
