Time again for the Daily Dollar, your one-stop shop for finishing Saturday with more scratch in your pocket. After missing a big winner by a single wiener on the Fourth of July (dropping the day’s picks to 2-2), we are out for blood tonight with multiple sports including UFC 264.

MLB: St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs o8 (-115), 7:15 p.m. EDT, FOX Regional

The Cardinals visit the Cubs with both teams having struggled in recent weeks trying to keep pace in the NL Central. St. Louis hopes that it’s merely a bump in the road. Chicago, on the other hand, is staring down the barrel of a looming trade deadline. These two bitter rivals always put on a good game, and this one should be no different.

Kwang-Hyun Kim (3.39 ERA) toes the rubber for the Cardinals and has benefitted greatly by facing teams that bat poorly versus southpaws, while Chicago’s Zach Davies (4.28) has been victimized often but not quite to the degree that he could be. Chicago is hearing the trade talk and Kim’s luck runs out, while Davies is predictably jumped on. Outside of Detroit versus Minnesota, this has the makings of the highest-scoring game on the slate. Eight runs is like taking candy from a baby. Take it and run.

Book it: Cardinals/Cubs over 8 total runs scored (-115)

CONCACAF GOLD CUP: Mexico -2.5 (-123) vs. Trinidad and Tobago, 10 p.m. EDT

Favorites to take the Gold Cup, Mexico has not lost a match in group stage play since 2013. On the flip side, if you’re feeling frisky T&T is +10,000 to win the cup if you want to lay down a few dollars. I kid, just give that money to me and I’ll throw it away for you. Seriously though, even in a match that will see El Tri coast to victory, the odds of them playing keep away until the end are slim. Expect at least four goals from Mexico and yet another clean sheet in Gold Cup play. Three goals is nothing and they’ll be on the attack right from the jump.

Book it: Mexico -2.5 goals (-123)

UFC 264 MAIN EVENT: Dustin Poirier (-131) vs. Conor McGregor, approx. 11:30 p.m. EDT, PPV

Depending on who you are, McGregor is either very easy or very difficult to bet against. His detractors will be plopping down dough against him like it’s going out of style. His fans will do the same for him to win outright. The O/U in this fight is 1.5 rounds, which is not a surprise in the opinion of yours truly. These two are not coming out to dance and it won’t take long before they decide to get after one another.

Although the pride of Ireland is more elusive against the takedown, sometimes it only takes one. Several of his losses can teach that in a hurry. He’ll be looking to strike quickly and get Poirier on his heels, but one misstep that takes this pair to the ground is bad news for McGregor. That’ll happen, and Poirier will win via submission in the second.

Book it: Winner, Dustin Poirier (-131)

That’s it for tonight, my fellow degenerates. Let’s build some capital to put towards some really juicy matchups for tomorrow, when we have a bevy of books to beat. Check back in then, enjoy the winnings tonight.
