Terry Bradshaw Says These Quarterbacks Are Better Than Tom Brady

For Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw, Tom Brady is not the best signal-caller to ever grace a football field.

His answer was not even Joe Montana.

On 93.7 The Fan’s “Cook and Joe Show,” Bradshaw told the hosts that the six-time Super Bowl champion is not only inferior to Dan Fouts but also Roger Staubach and Dan Marino.

“He may be the best quarterback we’ve had in the last 30 years. Is he better than [Roger] Staubach? No,” Bradshaw said. “Is he better than Dan Fouts? No. Dan Marino? No.”

He did not give Brady the benefit of the doubt that he was superior to Montana but claimed that he just might be better than New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Bress.

“Is he better than Montana? Not in my opinion,” Bradshaw said. “Is he better than Drew Brees? Yeah, maybe.”

Dan Fouts is by far the most questionable name on this list. Not only has Fouts not won a Super Bowl, but he had a much shorter career in which he threw 63 more interceptions than Brady has in 20 seasons.

Staubach was a great quarterback in his own right. The former U.S. Navy Officer won two Super Bowls as the signal-caller at the beginning of the Tom Landry era in Dallas.

However, Brady eclipses Staubach’s touchdown pass total almost five times over with 541 to the Navy alum’s 153. To compare these two quarterbacks would not be fair as the way the game was played is drastically different today than it was when Staubach took the field.

Brady’s longevity and consistency give him the edge over any of the quarterbacks on this list, as do the numerous accolades that put him in a far superior category than these quarterbacks.

Staubach has the edge on Brady in college as a Heisman Trophy winner.

What do you think of Bradshaw’s picks?
