For Tennessee football, the good news keeps on coming. On Thursday, five-star recruit Terrence Lewis committed to Tennessee, raising the Vols into the top-five recruiting classes, according to 24/7 Sports Composite Rankings.

Lewis is ranked as the No. 10 recruit in the country and the top outside linebacker in the 2020 class. The Opa Locka, Fla., prospect narrowed his list down to five this spring and finally pulled the trigger and joined the Vols on Thursday evening.

Back in 2019, Lewis helped carry Miami Northwestern High School to a 5A Florida State Championship. The past two years, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound outside linebacker racked up a total of 207 tackles and 24 sacks. Lewis is expected to finish his high school career next year at Chaminade-Madonna Prep outside of Hollywood, Fla.

The five-star recruit is joining a Tennessee class that has had a recent outbreak of activity. This week started off strong with five-star defensive end Dylan Brooks committing on Sunday followed by four-star safety Kamar Wilcoxson on Monday and four-star wide receiver Jullian Nixon on Tuesday. The new additions of Lewis and Brooks give the Vols two of the top 10 defensive players in the country.

It is no secret that the Vols have something brewing down in Knoxville, but the real question will be whether Pruit and co. have the staying power to keep up with SEC East rivals Georgia and Florida.
