We successfully called the Mike Brosseau and Max Kepler home runs, and we had a shot at going three for three, but unfortunately, Jose Ramirez exited early due to injury. Nonetheless, let’s get right back to it. Here are some core lineup plays for today.
This second installment of “Into the 80s with Tom Greene” took a few days longer than I, or even the Astros, had anticipated. But, nonetheless, the Astros become the third team this season to join the 80-win club. This comes at no surprise to baseball fans, as the Astros have seemingly controlled the AL West since 2015. However, their vision looks farther than winning the West. They want another World Series title, and they want it now. Let’s break the Astros’ team.
L.A. Dodgers ace Walker Buehler appears to be the safest option at SP1. However, a couple of lesser-priced options are a good way to balance out your lineup. Houston is facing Dylan Bundy and the Orioles at hitter-friendly Camden Yards. The Yankees are facing another one of the Blue Jays young prospects. The Red Sox are in plus-matchup at home to the Angels and the Padres are at home against Kyle Freeland who has really hit the skids of late. These are all prime spots for high scoring totals. Let’s get the weekend kicked off right and go Around the Horn!
Another MLB All-Star game is in the books and we can finally get to some real competition with most of the league returning to action Friday night, Thursday the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros square off. When a .200 hitting backup catcher could make or break you, I’ll gladly stay away. I will never tell you to do something that I wouldn’t do. With that said, you’re still reading this and you’re still here. So, that means I can’t tell you not to play it either. I still went ahead and did some research to try to help narrow it down.
