The NHL schedule continues its trend of loading up Tuesday and Thursday nights. Tonight we have a robust 11 games on the card. The following are games we should be targetting: Flames at Panthers, Avalanche at Jets, Devils at Blackhawks, Maple Leafs at Golden Knights, Blues at Coyotes and Capitals at Sharks.
Another mega-slate of games after a light two-games last night in the NHL. Tonight we have a huge 14 games on the card. Half the games have a combined implied total of at least six goals with two of them currently pegged at 6.5. Penguins at Panthers and Sharks at Flames are leading the way in high-event probability.
In the first of three games in another successful Boston sports Super Bowl Sunday, the Boston Bruins ended their 14-game
The Washington Capitals find themselves in a very uncomfortable spot headed to the All-Star break and a “bye” week break respectively. The Capitals have lost seven straight games. The defending Stanley Cup champions don’t remember such a losing skid. Five years ago was the last time that they endured such a string of consecutive loses.
We have six games on the docket this evening. Minnesota Wild at Colorado Avalanche, Washington Capitals at Toronto Maple Leafs and Carolina Hurricanes at Vancouver Canucks round out my top three. *Keep in mind, the League will be going on an extended all-star break until Monday, January 28th* Let’s get to it!
For a change, this particular Tuesday has a lighter offering of games on the schedule. Carolina Hurricanes and Calgary Flames are primed for high scoring as well as the San Jose Sharks at the slumping Washington Capitals. Detroit Red Wings at Edmonton Oilers round out my top three of the night. The Blackhawks can score in bunches but they are matched up against the number one ranked team in goals-against average, the New York Islanders.
A couple of the usual suspects headline our slate along with a couple skaters on the same team. Take a look at the values and stacks as well to cash in on a busy night in the NHL.
Pittsburgh Penguins won eight straight games going to Sunday night, but as soon as they learned Their opponent would be, the Penguins knew the streak would come to an end. The Blackhawks defeated the Penguins for tenth straight time and in comeback fashion. The Pens scored two early goals to jump to a 2-0 lead, but Chicago came back to win 5-3 to offer a little bit of consolation for fans from Windy City.
The Toronto Maple Leafs and Minnesota Wild begin the eight-game Thursday slate at an odd 2 p.m. eastern time with all other games beginning at the more normal 7 p.m. time slot. We will focus our attention on the evening match-ups. Tampa Bay, Washington, and the Vancouver/Montreal game are all good spots to build your roster. (Update, Leafs/Wild game not on DraftKings for today’s games).
We all saw the celebration of Alex Ovechkin after winning his holy grail, the Stanley Cup. It can probably be safely said, that it never left his side unless it was in the hands of a teammate. Also having another huge first in his life, this time becoming a father, Ovechkin has had an incredible 2018.
In my opinion, the Eastern Conference is the more exciting conference of the two in the National Hockey League. I am going to be highlighting a player or an exciting line from each team to watch out for as you get your fill of hockey this year.
