Anyone who watched the action unfold at the 2021 World Junior Hockey Championships inside the bubble in Edmonton, Alberta likely marveled at the team in red, blue, and white. Not only was this rendition of Team USA one of the deepest (and most talented) in recent memory. Many experts in and around the game pegged them to have one heck of a showing.-That’s precisely what happened en route to a Gold Medal.
Prospects are always a hot commodity around the National Hockey League, overseas in Europe, in Canadian junior hockey, and in the United States. As we look towards the start of next season, there are several elite-level prospects ready to burst onto the scene at the NHL level. Here’s my ranking of the top-10 prospects heading into 2020-21.
I have mentioned in my last few Prospect Highlight articles the increase in offensive play in the NHL. While goals and assists are definitely aspects of the game to pay attention to, that is not the only offensive aspect to be cognizant of; play away from the puck and drawing the defensive eye away is also key. With that in mind, I will be looking at Trevor Zegras.
