Driscoll’s 2024-25 NBA Power Rankings: Part 4
It has been about a month since we last ranked the top 10 teams in the NBA. Plenty has happened since then.
It has been about a month since we last ranked the top 10 teams in the NBA. Plenty has happened since then.
The third week of the Emirates NBA Cup (formerly known as the In-Season Tournament) gave us hints on which teams got eliminated and which teams gained paths to the Knockout Rounds. With the stakes getting higher and higher, players are supposed to step up. Unfortunately, being under the bright lights of the tournament can get in your head sometimes.
Action is starting to heat up in the Emirates NBA Cup (formerly known as the In-Season Tournament) and we have seen some players step up — but not everyone. If you look closely at the numbers from Week 2, you will realize that some players and teams could not stay warm on the court and ended up having off nights.
We’re back! This is Part 2 of this year’s bi-weekly NBA power rankings.
There is something about October that is infused with excitement. Perhaps it is the start of the NBA season informing our brains that the wait is finally over.
The most wonderful time of the year is (almost) here. Whether you love or hate the NBA play-in tournament, it always adds stakes to the end of the season. It certainly also does not hurt that this tournament consists of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Steph Curry, Joel Embiid, and Jimmy Butler having to play in big games.
Some NBA plays are so iconic that we are forced to label them. “Dunk of the Year,” “Block of the Year,” and “Game-winner of the Year” are among some of the most recognizable superlatives.
When the NBA schedule was released, you can bet that players immediately studied the dates carefully, eager to see things like homestands, roadtrips, and other interesting quirks.
This year, France became a popular country, especially in the NBA community.
The NBA Trade Deadline passed on Thursday, February 9th.
Aside from the games, there are other things to look forward to in Week 14 (Jan. 16 to 22) of the NBA.
