There is a full host of games around Major League Baseball on Tuesday, but fans will have one eye on Tampa Bay. The second-place Rays (43-30) host the first-place Boston Red Sox (43-29) in an American League East tilt, but that is not the only attraction.
The American League East division saw a wild change of expectations in April, leading us to expect a coming together in May. As the month concludes, we saw teams play more like what we expected, but the Red Sox remained good. With the Yankees on a wild roller coaster ride and the Orioles looking like the Orioles we know and love, June will be another interesting one in the AL East.
Following Wednesday’s Game 2 victory by the Tampa Bay Rays, the 2020 World Series currently stands at a tie, 1-1. Unlike in other playoff rounds this year, there are off days interspersed between games like there typically have been in previous seasons. This allows for teams to review film and rest their bodies after just several breaks in postseason baseball over the last three weeks. The Los Angeles Dodgers are still in pursuit of their first World Series title in 32 years; meanwhile, the Rays are chasing their first championship.
Well, well, well. Here we are with Game 5 of the ALDS. With their backs against the wall last night, the Yankees forced the decisive Game 5 versus the Rays with a 5-1 win. This is for all the marbles and all hands will be on deck. It is the only game on the slate as all the other series have been wrapped up. With that in mind, we will give some players to roll with for the DraftKings DFS showdown. Let’s do this.
