The Dodgers ended the Cardinals season last night with a walk-off home run by Chris Taylor. The pitching on both sides was dominant, while two Dodgers who had disappointing regular seasons were the biggest factors offensively.
After 186 days of the regular season, it comes down to do or die for the St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers. Who takes it and moves on?

We can go back and forth discussing and arguing whether Major League Baseball should keep its current one-game Wild Card playoff setup, but the fact of the matter is, it’s downright entertaining. It’s exciting to watch two teams fight it out, with it all on the line, in a winner-take-all single-elimination style game. You never know what’s going to happen. The amount of drama and emotion hanging on the balance of every pitch is what makes baseball the greatest game in the world.

The Pirates’ notoriously fickle front office decided to surprise fans at the MLB trade deadline by acquiring former Texas Rangers relief pitcher Keone Kela and former Tampa Bay Rays starter Chris Archer. Both names rang well in the ears of the Pittsburgh faithful, but the fans wanted top-tier work to match the expectations of the names alone. With the Pirates fighting to get back into the playoff picture, Archer and Kela are under a microscope.
