New Orleans Saints 2019 Season Outlook

To say the 2018 season did not end the way the New Orleans Saints wanted is an understatement. Much like 2017, one play seemed to derail the Super Bowl dreams of the Saints. Although they did get a little closer last year, making the NFC Championship, the result was nevertheless disappointing. As a Saints fan, I won’t go into what happened the past two years as it is still a little painful as I’m sure it is for my fellow WhoDats. What I will say is this: The Saints are poised to get that ring and put Drew Brees along with Peyton Manning and John Elway as great quarterbacks going out on top.

New England Patriots 2019 Team Preview

The 2018 NFL season for the New England Patriots ended with their second Super Bowl victory in three years as they defeated the Los Angles Rams 13-3 in one of the most boring Super Bowls in league history. However, the Patriots will take it, pretty, ugly, or otherwise. This team has a true one game at a time mentality and it showed early on in the season. The Patriots started off the season slow, going just 1-2 in their first three games, with loses to Jacksonville and Detroit on the road. However, the team finished strong, winning 10 of their final 13 games.

The San Francisco 49ers had a rough season in 2018, going 4-12 and being the second-worst team in the NFL. Their season was marred by injuries, with Jimmy Garoppolo getting hurt early, Jerick McKinnon not playing at all, and Matt Breida getting hurt after dominating in the run game.

Tennessee Titans Season Outlook

The Tennessee Titans would overcome early struggles on offense and several injuries to make a late push. It would come down to the final week of the season, for a win or go home playoff opportunity against the rival Indianapolis Colts. They ended up losing out to the Colts and would finish the year with a respectable record of 9-7.

The team made a number of well-thought-out moves over the course of the offseason, that should help strengthen the team on both sides of the ball. Most notable was the signing of highly sought after guard Rodger Saffold, to bolster that leaky offensive line. The unit, in fact, showed quite a bit of decline they allowed 12 more sacks in 2018, as opposed to the season previous. Saffold has managed to stay healthy, only missing two games in the last three seasons.

Fantasy Battle: JuJu Smith-Schuster vs Travis Kelce

Welcome to another fantasy battles. I will evaluate two players who have similar ADP in 12-team PPR scoring. The two competitors in question will be Travis Kelce and JuJu Smith-Schuster. According to Fantasy Football Calculator, both players are being taken in the early second round. With a similar ADP, we will look at the reasons for and against taking both players and whom I value based on the points made. Kelce is currently being taken as the TE1 while Smith-Schuster is being taken as the WR7. In 2018, Kelce finished as the TE1 while Smith-Schuster finished as the WR8. Follow along to see the pros and cons of drafting one over the other.

Baltimore Ravens 2019 Team Preview

The Ravens had a rollercoaster of a year in 2018. They started the year 4-2 but quickly lost three games in a row heading into their Week 10 bye week. It was at this point where the Ravens decided to bench their former Super Bowl-winning quarterback Joe Flacco. Little did they know that the young rookie Lamar Jackson would step in and use his legs and occasional arm talent to lead the team back to a 10-6 record and a Wild Card berth in the playoffs. It also helped that the Ravens boasted one of the best defenses in 2018. While the joy was short-lived after a first-round loss in the playoffs to the Los Angeles Chargers 23-17, it was clear that the Ravens were ready to begin a new era, the Lamar Jackson Era.

Football is back after a five and a half month hiatus! All 32 teams have played a preseason game. Preseason is a time for all fans to take a look at some of the unknown talents on their favorite team’s roster, whether they make the roster or not. Last week I highlighted six players that improved their stocks heading into roster cuts in a few weeks from the Hall of Fame game. Today I will highlight ten players who made the most out of their opportunities this past week and will look for sustained success in the weeks to come.
