After three exciting days, the NFL Draft is now over. The league’s newest players head to their teams and prepare for training camps. Every rookie will look to make an impact right away, but only a few can separate themselves from the pack.
The second and third rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft were some of the most entertaining in recent memory. Many superstars fell and extreme reaches were flying left, right, and center.
Perhaps one of the biggest draft sleepers, Jacob Harris has significant size and speed. At 6’5” with a monstrous wingspan he has the tools to become a great receiver in the league.
To celebrate this week’s NFL Draft, Justin (@JustinFF_) & John (@CoachSchepps) brought on special guest Matt Waldman (@MattWaldman) of the
The first thought that comes to mind with a USC Safety is the legendary Troy Polamalu. Coincidentally, the Steelers legend has taken the reigning Pat Tillman Defensive Player of the Year Talanoa Hufanga under his wing.
The son of a former Pro Bowl cornerback, Patrick Surtain II is walking in his father’s footsteps as a shutdown corner. He stepped in from day one as a freshman and immediately impacted the Crimson Tide defense. Surtain is the surest thing on the defensive side of the ball going into the NFL Draft. He is very pro-ready and he looks to make a seamless transition.
Cornerbacks are at a premium in this year’s NFL Draft. With several expected to go in the first few rounds, Tre Brown could be a player that gets called on in the latter half of the draft.
In a class with all different types of hybrid and new-generation linebackers, Tony Fields II is a linebacker who is not getting talked about enough. Fields is more of a traditional middle linebacker who does everything fairly well.
After redshirting his freshman season, Tyler Vaughns became a four-year starter at the University of Southern California. Vaughns has been one of the most productive receivers in USC history, as he sits at ninth overall all-time for the Trojans.
Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith lit the NCAA on fire this past year. With 117 receptions. 1.853 yards, and 23 touchdowns, Smith had a historically good season. Smith is a gamechanger and electric when he gets his hands on the ball. However, there are some things to note about Smith’s game.
While most of the NFL world is all about Trey Lance, there is another prospect coming out from North Dakota State that is getting first round buzz.
