After a dominant weekend from Honda HRC in So Cal, they looked to keep the good times rolling on the outskirts of Sacramento. Chase Sexton and Jett Lawrence led the way for the CRF Brigade, both holding six-point leads through two motos on the year.
For the second weekend in a row, it was Championship Day in Monster Energy Supercross. Both Christian Craig and hometown hero Eli Tomac had clear roads to the 250 West and 450 Titles respectively.
Before a week off to begin April, Supercross returned to Seattle for the first time since 2019, surprisingly dodging some inclement weather as well. The big headline for the week was the 250 West Class returning to action for the first time in over a month.
Anaheim 3 was a big round of Supercross for a number of reasons. First and foremost, it was the final time the 250 West Series would run for the next month and a half.
For the second time this season, Supercross took over Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California. Coming off of a weekend in San Diego with two first-time winners, there was no shortage of headlines entering round four.
Dating back to 2016, the rider who had won Round 3 of Monster Energy Supercross has gone on to win the 450 title five times. Going further back, 15 times has the Round 3 winner won the title dating back to 2003.
Justin Barcia more or less made his way onto the AMA GasGas operation by way of a ‘trade’ with Yamaha involving then amateur rider Nate Thrasher. Since moving on from the old Monster Yamaha Factory Team, Barcia has been terrific with GasGas.
The GasGas’ paddock will be notably empty for this upcoming weekend in central New York. In a pair of separate incidents, Justin Barcia and Michael Mosiman both hit the deck in midweek practice sessions. As a result, both riders will miss Unadilla this weekend.
