The Italian sits atop a number of all-time MotoGP/500cc class statistics. Including his seven world titles, and as of now, 89 wins and 199 podiums since moving up in 2000.
Following the two-week season-opening double-header in Qatar, MotoGP moves onto Portugal for the next leg. Set in the charming seaside town of Portimao, Portugal, this is just the second year having run in Portimao. Up until 2012, the event had been held in Estoril for 12 straight seasons. MotoGP would leave Portugal after 2012 and return eight years later.
The 2020 MotoGP season was essentially a complete shambles due to Covid-19. Bearing in mind, MotoGP did not start up until late July. We’d also have nine of the 19 Grand Prix’s canceled for 2020. However, with a brand new season just days upon us, let’s get rolling.
