Fantasy basketball season is almost upon us and if you’re like anyone playing in the leagues that I’ve won in the past (humble flex, I’m cool with bragging about the one thing I’m good at), you want to know how I chose some of the players that I did. Did I go for big names? Did I pick players who no one knows? How many of X position players did I choose? The questions go on and on and on so let’s dive right in. These are my guidelines for picking the best roster you can possibly pick in any of your leagues.
Over the weekend it was reported that the recently retired Dwyane Wade would still be involved with NBA basketball in the 2019-20 season.
On August 5, the NCAA announced new criteria for agents wishing to represent a student-athlete.
In 2010, the Miami Heat pulled off the biggest free agency coup in NBA history signing Lebron James and Chris Bosh to join Dwyane Wade in Miami. During their four seasons together in Miami, the Heat went on to win two championships in four NBA Finals appearances. While Chris Bosh became a member of the Heat’s Big Three, there’s been reports over the years that suggested that Carmelo Anthony was supposed to be the third piece of the Heat’s Big Three in 2010.
It’s been fourteen days since NBA Free Agency started and we’ve already seen plenty of stars joining forces. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are joining forces with the Brooklyn Nets, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George with the Los Angeles Clippers, and now Russell Westbrook and James Harden with the Houston Rockets. The league has changed since the 2000s when stars were just trying to compete against each other.
The Detroit Pistons have been seemingly in a state of purgatory in the NBA. Since the Chauncey Billups trade in 2008, the Pistons have not had a pick inside the top seven. And, to show how Detroit’s draft picks have done since then, said seventh pick was Greg Monroe. Although Andre Drummond has had some success in Motown, almost every other draft pick has had to find a different home to pan out… if they did. So, with the past questionable draft history in mind, let’s take a look at how Detroit did this year.
