This was another dreadful season for the Chicago Blackhawks, even on top of their own self-inflicted PR Nightmare. They have now missed the postseason in four of the last five seasons, and the lone year they did was in the bubble.
After finishing sixth in the Central Division, the Chicago Blackhawks and their fans experienced a disappointing season. While in a rebuild like other teams are, they still needed to perform at their best, and this season was not their best.
The 2018-19 Chicago Blackhawks Season much like last season, featured an oft-injured Corey Crawford, uneventful off-season moves, under-performing special teams, and a soft defense. They were coming off a season in which they missed the playoffs for the first time since 2007 and had some cash to spend, but instead of making that huge splash in the summer, the big offseason signings ended up being a 39-year-old Chris Kunitz and longtime Hurricanes goaltender Cam Ward, inking both players to one-year deals.
