After securing the first seed last week, the Miami Heat comfortably sit at home waiting for the playoffs.
What a tale of two seasons it was last season for the Atlanta Hawks. After a tough start, the team fired head coach Lloyd Pierce and promoted former Indiana Pacers head coach Nate McMillan to head coach. After McMillan was promoted, the Hawks took off.
The Atlanta Hawks had a shocking run to the Eastern Conference Finals and fell in six games to the eventual NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks. Trae Young took a big step forward in the playoffs and he earned himself a max contract in the process.
For the month of June, we will be ranking the top 10 NBA players at each position. These rankings will be based only on the 2020-21 regular season and will not include any injured players.
The Atlanta Hawks made things look easy in their first-round matchup against the New York Knicks. The Knicks were one of the NBA’s best teams defensively but they could not contain Trae Young, as he scored 30 or more points in three of the five games.

News coming out of the NBA Office this morning is not good for the Atlanta Hawks and more importantly third-year forward John Collins. The league confirms that Collins tested positive for Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide 2. Collins stated in a message to ESPN just moments ago “He didn’t know the supplement contained an illegal component.”
Per Adrian Wojnarowski, Atlanta Hawks’ power forward John Collins has been suspended 25 games after he tested positive for PEDS.
