Welcome to Week 7! Looking over the main slate this week, a few injuries popped up as we moved closer to Sunday. Those injuries open up many options for GPPs/Tournaments and value pillars for Cash Games (H2Hs, 50/50s, and Double-Ups). There’s a lot to be excited about. Let’s dive in.
The Detroit Lions (2-3) and Atlanta Falcons (1-5) are both coming off convincing victories. While the Falcons try to build on their first win, the Lions will be trying to even their record and make it three wins in their last four games.
The injury bug has hit the NFL and the Seattle Seahawks so hard that even Pete Carroll was limited in practice. The Seattle head coach underwent a knee scope during the bye week. Though Carroll had a bit of a setback in rehab because he “overdid it a little too much,” he will be 100 percent ready to go on Sunday against the NFC West rival Arizona Cardinals.
On Sunday afternoon the Carolina Panthers will play in their second divisional matchup of the season, facing the New Orleans Saints at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The teams are tied 25-25 in the all-time series, however, the Saints have won five of the last six games.
Green Bay and Houston last played in 2016 when Aaron Rodgers and the Packers defeated Brock Osweiler and the Texans in a 21-13 game. That game was the season before the Texans would select Deshaun Watson with the 12th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
The Cleveland Browns (4-2) head south for the second installment in 2020’s “Battle of Ohio” series with the Cincinnati Bengals (1-4-1) in an AFC North rivalry. Cleveland won the first matchup of the teams in a shootout on Sept. 17, 35-30.
The Philadelphia Eagles may have beat the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football but don’t let that fool you. It’s clear that head coach Doug Pederson is still the biggest problem in Philly right now.
This game was originally slated as a Sunday Night Football matchup. However, thanks to potential scheduling issues, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-2) and the Las Vegas Raiders (3-2) will now play on Sunday afternoon.
The Jets stocked up on intriguing rookies in this past year’s draft and one of the players who hasn’t made his debut yet is Denzel Mims. Mims, 23, stands at 6 foot, 3 inches, and 207 pounds. A fabulous size for a receiver who can play from the slot and run deep routes.
The Jacksonville Jaguars (1-5) travel to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers (1-4) in a battle of one-win teams. The Chargers come off their bye week, so they will be extra prepared while the Jaguars try to bounce back from a blowout loss to the Detroit Lions last week.
The Thursday night game between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles had some of the worst moments in football this season. Daniel Jones blew a sure-fire rushing touchdown as the Turf Monster got him, while both quarterbacks threw horrible interceptions. I had a good night on Thursday, getting four of five props correct.
The best part about fantasy football is winning. The second best part is the draft. However, the draft has come and gone, and fantasy owners struggle with who to start, who to sit, and who to target as a sleeper each week.
