After taking last week off, we are back with another edition of Flashback Friday. Ken Boyer is considered by many among the top dozen third basemen to ever play, yet he is still not in the Hall of Fame.
Of course, everyone knows Bobby’s son Barry, but dad was a premier power-speed combo player when he played.
Boomer pitched in the major leagues for 21 years and was probably better than most fans think. Wells was a reliable pitcher for a long time in the steroid era and showed up in the postseason.
Hopefully, this new series will bring back some memories for those of us who saw them play while also educating the newer generation of fans on some of the impact players of the past.
