The Indianapolis Colts entered the 2021 season with lofty expectations. Unfortunately, the Colts didn’t reach the playoffs, let alone the Super Bowl. For a team with lofty expectations, this season was a bust.
This year’s defensive class in the NFL draft is loaded, so, naturally, guys like Utah’s Devin Lloyd have not been talked about a ton. Lloyd is one of many looking to crack the 10-12 range in the draft.
With Week 6 of the NFL in the books, it is time to look at the best performers at each position from last week. It should be a mix of usual suspects and random one-game wonders.
The Indianapolis Colts are coming off of an 11-5 season where they lost in the Wild Card round to the Buffalo Bills. While many things have stayed the same, there are some very notable changes across the roster and the coaching staff ahead of the 2021 season.
With the 2021 NFL Draft over and the schedule officially being released, it’s time for my third annual 32 part series where the top three questions will be posed for each NFL team. Here are those three questions for the Indianapolis Colts.
Indianapolis Colts general manager, Chris Ballard is one of the best in the NFL. These next few months could potentially be instrumental for him. Arguably the best work Ballard has done with the Colts was their 2018 draft class.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at the top ten linebackers from the 2020 NFL season.
Entering the 2020 season, the Indianapolis Colts were a team right on the verge of the top ten in most power rankings. The Colts found their quarterback for the season when they acquired Philip Rivers in free agency. Indianapolis also sent a first-round pick to the San Francisco 49ers for DeForest Buckner. He would be one of the primary leaders on a defensive unit that was vastly improved.
The NFL playoff race is starting to heat up. While most media platforms are focusing on the Seattle against Buffalo and Tampa Bay against New Orleans games, the biggest game of the week could be in Indianapolis. The Baltimore Ravens will travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts.
The defense was the key to Indianapolis getting a win on Sunday against Chicago. Philip Rivers only had to throw one touchdown to Mo Alie-Cox, and from then on, the Colts defense did everything they could to get the win by a score of 19-11.
As we head toward the top 20, and the NFL season, here is Splash’s Top 100 for 2020: 30-21.
