The Second Round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs came to a close on Sunday, and it was absolutely wild. Two of the series went seven games, and one went six. Even the series that ended after Game 6 came down to late free throws.
We’re officially approaching the end of the NBA season. In fact, this represents the penultimate NBA Power Rankings for the year. Although it may seem like most of the best teams are settled in, there is still the potential for some sleepers to sneak into a top spot.
Some NBA plays are so iconic that we are forced to label them. “Dunk of the Year,” “Block of the Year,” and “Game-winner of the Year” are among some of the most recognizable superlatives.
In the NBA this week, the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers will combine to give us at least five quality games. We break down their Western Conference opponents because how they perform will definitely have an impact on the standings. Additionally, there is one “race” out in the East that can be quite amusing to watch.
This was an extremely productive deadline for the league. Although there were not many splashes, plenty of teams made smaller moves. However, some teams made better moves than others.
The NBA seems to be in a good place. A lot of players are emerging right now and we have easy access to how they are growing through daily highlights. Scoring is up, too, and if a team is down big, you can always count on them to have a huge comeback and make that particular game competitive again.
It is still relatively early, but we now know more than we did at the beginning of the season.
Back to regular programming. Now that the In-Season Tournament is over, everyone can go back to the “normal” feel of the NBA schedule.
With all of the basketball that has been played so far, let’s see which 10 teams have been the best.
