Here we are, it is officially Heisman Day! Can we make it an official holiday? If not, I am retroactively making it one, as it is the day we celebrate the best college football player in the country. While it has historically been more of a “quarterbacks” award, there is a non-quarterback finalist for the third straight year.
Derek Stingley Jr. has been on almost every scout’s radar since the day he enrolled at LSU. He was once regarded as the best high school cornerback of the decade and a generational prospect.
After Sunday’s edition of our Heisman Watch, the four finalists were revealed last night. Those four finalists, Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud, Alabama’s Bryce Young, Pittsburgh’s Kenny Pickett, and Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson, will meet in New York on Saturday. That is when the final presentation will take place at the Downtown Athletic Club, where the winner will be announced.
A college football season that felt surreal is now nearing its final games. Conference championships have been decided and surprises have been had, but the kings have still flexed their muscles. The college football playoff rankings have already come out. But in our rankings this week, we will go through what the committee should’ve done and reflect on some of the mistakes they made on Sunday.
Conference Championship weekend was quite the showcase for the Heisman contenders in action. Let’s take a look at the best bets to make for these games as Christmas looms near.
