After the first edition of our NHL power rankings last week, things have been shaken to the core. Beginning this week, you will be able to see how many spots each team rose or fell in the rankings.

The Carolina Hurricanes had a great season in 2020-2021. The playoffs, however, were not so kind to them.
The Carolina Hurricanes made waves taking a total of 13 picks in the draft. They traded back five times throughout the draft, and it became clear that the Hurricanes were focusing on quantity as the draft went on.
The Carolina Hurricanes have extended an offer sheet to the Montreal Canadiens’ Jesperi Kotkaniemi, but that is hardly the full story. Montreal has one week to decide whether or not to match the deal or else they will lose Kotkaniemi.
Capturing the Central Division crown in 2021, the Carolina Hurricanes finished the regular season with 36 victories. One point clear of the second-place Florida Panthers, the team had the third highest point total league wide behind the Colorado Avalanche and the Vegas Golden Knights.
