Chicago Bears 2021 Team Preview
The Chicago Bears want you to believe the glass is half full. They managed to stumble through the backdoor of the playoffs last season, despite a tame 8-8 finish and, predictably, were soon one and done.

Football is back! With the preseason underway, fantasy players are doing mock drafts hourly (or maybe it’s just me) to prepare for their fantasy drafts. In the first part of an eight-part series, I will look over the NFC North and provide ADP values, likely to bust candidates and potential sleepers.
The Chicago Bears underwent a fairly large transformation this offseason, moving on from Mitchell Trubisky and replacing him with a different first-round quarterback in Justin Fields. While the Ohio State product might not start for the Bears right away, his eventual emergence should equate to further success (both on the field and in fantasy leagues) for Chicago’s entire offense.
As the summer heats up, NFL training camps get closer and closer to opening. The Bears will report to Halas Hall in Lake Forest, IL on Tuesday, July 27. It is expected that the biggest decisions the Bears’ coaching staff will have to make will be on the offensive side of the ball.
While the 2021 NFL season is still months away, it is never too early to prepare for the fantasy season. Today, I am going to give three bold fantasy predictions for the Chicago Bears in 2021.
Bears General Manager, Ryan Pace, was all about making moves in the 2021 draft. In fact, outside of the compensatory picks, the Bears did not draft from their original draft position in any of the seven rounds of the draft. They were all acquired during trades. The Bears had seven total picks after trading up twice in the first two rounds and trading back in round six. In moving up, they lost their first and fourth-round pick in 2022. Pace definitely made a splash in this year’s draft.
The New York Jets started their season with many losses in a row, 13-straight losses before a win against the playoff-bound Los Angeles Rams. This all led to a 2-14 finish with many holes and more to come barring any drastic decisions in free agency.
After starting the season 5-1, the Chicago Bears then lost six games in a row. That put head coach Matt Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace on the hot seat. However, after the six-game skid, they rallied back and finished the season 8-8 for the second year in a row. With the expanded playoff field, the Bears made the playoffs but were eliminated by the New Orleans Saints by a score of 21-9.
Entering the 2020 season, the Washington Football Team had undergone massive changes from the coaching staff to the team name. Many expected them to struggle and end up with a top-five draft pick. However, after a successful season, expect Washington to be aggressive in the offseason.
Over the next several weeks, I will be ranking the top ten NFL players at each position. These rankings will be solely based on performance in the regular season and will not include any injured players.
“The road to Tampa goes through Lambeau”
All season, every week has felt like a “wait for the news” week. In Week 17, that’s always the case. Nonetheless, we can take on a little more risk in tournaments with all of the uncertainty about who will be playing their starters and who won’t.
