Markavist “Big Kat” Bryant had a breakout year at UCF.
The safety class in this year’s draft is pretty strong, with guys like Kyle Hamilton, Daxton Hill, and Jalen Pitre. Another name that has gotten hype is Jaquan Brisker, who was a four-star recruit out of Gateway Senior High School.
Isaiah Spiller is the big running back from Texas A&M.
The 2022 quarterback class is a mixed bag. Perhaps the quarterback with the most buzz following the week in Mobile at the Senior Bowl was Carson Strong.
The NFL season has now been over for more than a week, with the Los Angeles Rams being crowned Super Bowl champions last Sunday. With that said, the offseason is officially here with all 32 teams looking ahead to free agency and the NFL Draft. Before the NFL Scouting Combine takes place next week at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, it is time for another mock draft from yours truly.
At the top of the 2022 draft class, three tackles are getting top 10 hype. In the second tier of tackles are two small-school studs in Trevor Penning and Bernhard Raimann. While there is plenty to say that Raimann can be a plus-player at the next level, he may take some time to develop.
Jack Coan had an excellent senior session leading the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to an 11-1 regular-season record.
The NFL Combine is a few weeks away, and that’s where the draft rumors start to pick up.
Arnold Ebiketie burst onto the scene in 2021 after transferring to Penn State following three seasons at Temple. The former three-star recruit had a fairly easy transition from the American Athletic Conference to the Big Ten Conference.
We’ve hit the point of the draft season where we look for those sleeper players. Brad Hawkins is one of these guys. While the Michigan defense is producing players like Aidan Hutchinson, David Ojabo, and Daxton Hill, Hawkins was the glue of this unit.
The Senior Bowl is a great place for smaller-school players to stand out. This is exactly what happened for Northern Iowa’s Trevor Penning.
