Super Bowl LVI DFS: FanDuel Picks

Super Bowl DFS

Super Bowl Sunday is officially upon us as the Los Angeles Rams will face off against the Cincinnati Bengals for Lombardi Trophy. What better way to spend Super Bowl Sunday than gambling your hard-earned money. You probably already got your Super Bowl squares, and prop bets placed so why not take a shot with a couple of DFS lineups? This article will be focused on FanDuel’s single-game slates. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the top players that will help make you some extra cash.

MVP

Odell Beckham Jr. – $10,500

OBJ has been a huge addition to the Rams. This week gets a good matchup against the Bengals defense who allowed four touchdowns thus far to wide receivers in three playoff games. Furthermore, Odell is coming off his first 100 yard game of the season in the NFC Championship. A lot of the focus is going to be on Cooper Kupp, how could it not with the historic season he and Matthew Stafford have had all year. However, Stafford and Odell have also developed a good connection. Don’t be surprised if OBJ has his biggest game of the season in the biggest game of the season.

Cam Akers – $10,000

Akers didn’t practice at all last week with a shoulder injury. However, Sean McVay didn’t seem very concerned about him missing the game so it sounds like he should be a full go for the Super Bowl. Keep an eye on his injury status but as long as Akers is 100 percent he should at the very least be the early-down back for the Rams in a good matchup. In the playoffs, the Bengals’ defense has allowed an average of 104 rushing yards to running backs. If the Rams get a lead early, McVay will rely heavily on the rushing attack. Akers is an excellent option to sprinkle some money on to win Super Bowl MVP if you’re into gambling as well.

Flex/Value Plays

Joe Mixon – $12,500

Even when the Bengals are losing, Zac Taylor does not shy away from running the football. Last game against the Kansas City Chiefs, despite being down almost the entire game, Mixon still saw 21 carries. The Rams’ defense has been excellent throughout the playoffs. However, with their pass rush, the Bengals will need to stick with the run all game, or the pass rush will pin their ears back and attack Joe Burrow. Look for them to come out with a run-heavy approach and Mixon to see a bunch of carries all game long.

Evan McPherson – $9,000

“Money Mac” as they call him, has certainly lived up to his nickname. He has kicked at least four field goals in all three playoff games. Furthermore, he has scored double-digit FanDuel points in seven straight games. McPherson will save you money to afford the top players while also giving you upside if it’s a lower scoring game and the Bengals continue to struggle in the red zone.

Dart Throw

Ben Skowronek – $6,000

This is 100 percent a dart throw given how easily Skowronek could score zero points. However, you could take a risk, and if he does score a touchdown his value will be extreme. Skowronek is a good run blocker and that helps him get on the field. Last game, he played 27 percent of the snaps and was open on a 40 plus yard touchdown but couldn’t haul it in. With Tyler Higbee not expected to play, Skowronek could be used more especially with his tight-end background at Northwestern. Take a shot with Skowronek and put him in a couple of lineups.
