Saints Accept Drew Brees’ Apology

Yesterday, Saints quarterback Drew Brees made a controversial statement about respecting the American flag in an interview with Yahoo Finance.  Afterwards, he was heavily criticized by many athletes and celebrities on social media.

Today, Brees took to Instagram and Twitter to apologize, and it appears as though his teammates have accepted his apology.  The Saints also held a team meeting in which Sean Peyton addressed the team and Brees talked to his teammates.

Wide receiver Michael Thomas acknowledged Brees’ apology.

This morning, linebacker Demario Davis appeared on CNN and commended Brees for having the strength to apologize and take ownership of his mistake.

Several other teammates have recognized Brees’ apology as well.
