Liverpool has agreed to sell 30-year-old Senegalese striker Sadio Mané to Bayern Munich. The two clubs reached an agreement of €41 million(£35 million/$43 million) for Mané to join the German club. Mané informed Liverpool of his desire to leave the club shortly after the UEFA Champions League final, which Liverpool lost. In February, he helped Senegal win the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time.

Mané joined Liverpool in 2016 on a £34 million transfer fee from Southampton. During his time in Liverpool, Mané helped Liverpool reach the UCL final three times, winning the tournament in 2019. In addition, he won the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2019 and recently won both the FA Cup and EFL Cup. Furthermore, he’s a one-time Premier League Golden Boot recipient.

Where does Liverpool go from here?

The club recently completed the signing of 22-year-old Uruguayan forward Darwin Núñez from Portuguese club Benfica. Liverpool’s signing of Núñez for €100 million is the club’s most expensive transfer of all time.

Now that Liverpool has Núñez, they have found their man to succeed Mané. Manchester City signed Norwegian striker Erling Haaland last month, so Liverpool had to respond immediately with a huge signing of their own.

Where does Mané go from here?

Mané insisted that he was seeking a new challenge. No doubt, Mané accomplished everything possible during his spell at Anfield. And now, Mané is ready to make an impact in a new league and grow his already endless list of accomplishments.

Moving from the English Premier League to the German Bundesliga league is quite a challenging experience due to the different styles of play and playing environment. The Bundesliga is not as competitive as the Premier League, but the league has a history of positive impacts. However, if Mané is motivated enough to take that challenge, then perhaps his move to Bayern Munich is the best thing for him both personally and professionally.
