Reporter Links 3 Teams to Brady If Quarterback Hits Market

New England Patriots quarterback will be a hot commodity if he chooses to walk in free agency.

NBC Sports’ Peter King reported that three teams in need of a quarterback change are looking at the six-time Super Bowl champion as an option if he is free on March 18.

“The Chargers might view Brady as the billboard to sell PSLs in new SoFi Stadium, opening next season,” King wrote in his column. “The Colts, assuming Andrew Luck stays retired, might view Brady as the on-field mentor for Jacoby Brissett for a year or two. Where else? John Elway seems to have his passer of the future in Drew Lock, so Denver’s doubtful, but Elway’s a home-run swinger. Tennessee is doubtful too, after the emergence of Ryan Tannehill, but with Patriot-bred Jon Robinson as GM and Belichick protégé Mike Vrabel as coach, never say never. Chicago should be interested, but two years of Brady would be the end of Mitchell Trubisky, which the brass there seems loathe to do. Carolina’s in flux.”

The trio in the slew mentioned by King are the Los Angeles Chargers, Chicago Bears, and none other than the soon to be Las Vegas Raiders.

“My personal darkhorse, by the way: the Las Vegas (nee Oakland) Raiders,” King wrote. “Jon Gruden’s favorite quarterback is always the one he doesn’t have. No clue if he’s remotely interested, but my antennae would be up for the Raiders and Brady.”

Los Angeles is the option with the most buzz swirling around it with CBS reporter Jason La Canfora seeing it as the likely play if the 42-year-old is planning to walk.

It is all speculation as to where Brady will be next season, but it is almost certainly a fact that the Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Chargers, and Las Vegas Raiders will be interested in him if he were to hit the open market.
