Ever since Heath Miller retired, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been lacking a stable tight end. However, that might become less of a problem now, as on Friday the team signed Eric Ebron to a two-year, $12 million deal.

Ebron is one of the more talented tight ends in football and had his talent unlocked, thanks in large part to Andrew Luck. He was limited to just 11 games last season with Jacoby Brissett, but it was evident that the 26-year-old wasn’t the same player in 2019 that he was in ’18.
The quarterback is the key, and now Ebron will be playing alongside Ben Roethlisberger as opposed to Philip Rivers.
The other weapons that Roethlisberger has around him include; JuJu Smith-Schuster, Diontae Johnson, James Washington, James Conner, Jaylen Samuels, and Benny Snell Jr.
In recent years, the Steelers have had Vance McDonald, Jesse James, and Xavier Grimble to fill the void at tight end. While they were all solid at times, none of them were ever truly stable, reliable options.
As for Ebron, his numbers last season were 31 receptions for 375 yards and three touchdowns.
This signing is a step in the right direction for a Steelers team looking to recreate an offense that was once a juggernaut.
