Report: Seahawks Discussing Reunion With Familiar Face

The Seattle Seahawks came out of Sunday’s game against the Cardinals with basically no running back.

Rashaad Penny is already done for the season and, in Sunday’s loss, Chris Carson and C.J. Prosise went down with what appears to be season-ending injuries. It’s a bad situation, especially for a team that relies on having a good run game.

Seattle faces the San Francisco 49ers in a game to determine who wins the NFC West, and who will have to play in Wild Card weekend.

The Seahawks are going to have to search and find someone quickly over the next week to fill the newly-found gaping hole in this offense.

Is there any chance they look to reunite with Beast Mode?

Reports on Monday were that Marshawn Lynch was flying to Seattle to meet with them in the afternoon.

The idea that Marshawn Lynch could be brought back out of retirement was all the buzz on social media after news broke that Carson and Prosise were likely done for the season. This is probably a longshot, but at least if Lynch is relatively in football shape ––  why not? He knows the offense better than anyone else that they would try to sign.

However, Lynch is 33 years old and retired after the 2018 season. That season with the Oakland Raiders was certainly not great.

But anyway, adding to the rumors, Lynch dropped by Seattle’s practice facility earlier this month –– and the two parties are on good terms. If there was anybody who could roll out of bed and play in the NFL it might be Lynch, who is one of the toughest backs the league has ever seen.

  1. It would be a bit of a stretch. I doubt he’s in football shape. But at most they need 4 games out of him. It’s understandable

  2. Good read. Too bad someone else wrote about the actual signing. It’s looks like you’re sight is cutthroat, very unappealing if you ask me

    1. Hi David, Joe wrote about the rumor yesterday morning and Kyle wrote the signing last night. You’re probably unfamiliar with how we operate, but we don’t have one specific writer covering breaking news. We asked last night for a writer to claim the piece and Kyle was the first person to respond. It’s as simple as that.

  3. Let your bosses know that is seems pretty messed up, that you didn’t get to write the post about his signing. I’m a follower of all of your articles. I read every one of them. I also read other posts on the site. But something about that doesn’t sit well with me
