Not quite as weird as it’ll be to see Tom Brady sporting another uniform, but the 16-season run of Jason Witten in Dallas has come to a conclusion.
The tight end will be joining the Las Vegas Raiders on a one-year deal for his age-38 season.
Former Cowboys’ TE Jason Witten reached agreement on a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders, source tells ESPN.
A veritable MNF booth in Vegas.

Witten retired after the 2017 season ended, but returned in 2019 to catch 63 balls for 529 yards and four touchdowns. While he isn’t the same reliable weapon he was years ago with Tony Romo, he can still be a productive commodity for a team looking to make the postseason.
The question that remains is which veteran quarterback will be throwing him passes in 2020? Will it be the man who’s been under center for the recently-moved Las Vegas Raiders in Derek Carr? Or will it be the former Heisman Trophy winner who got usurped by Ryan Tannehill in 2019, Marcus Mariota?
Witten joins a tight end room that already features Darren Waller (90 receptions, 1,145 yards last season) and Derek Carrier, so the jury is out on what exactly the soon-to-be 38-year-old’s role will be in Vegas. Perhaps as a featured tight end? Maybe a run-blocker? It could even be just veteran leadership with postseason experience and a drive to capture a Super Bowl ring before hanging up the spikes for good.
