Report: Raiders Nearing Deal to Stay in Oakland

It was believed the Raiders had played their final game in Oakland. However, that may not be the case. It appears that a deal is almost in place to keep them in Oakland for 2019 and potentially 2020 if their stadium in Las Vegas isn’t quite ready.

Multiple reports, including one from Yahoo Sports, have come out that the Raiders and the powers to be for the stadium will be offering them a home for 2019 and have a second-year option for 2020 if needed;  however, adding a second season to they stay would make their rent go up significantly.

Fans in Oakland have been very loyal over the years and with the timetable coming short to determine the full 2019 NFL schedule.

A deal will most likely be finalized in the next week, according to several reports, and if the Raiders’ new stadium in Las Vegas isn’t ready, you might see them playing two years in Oakland instead of being done in California.

Oakland has three picks in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft and is looking at the second year under Coach Jon Gruden and first year under new general manager Mike Mayock.
