Report: Patriots Reverse Tight End’s Status

It was not a long divorce between the New England Patriots and Eric Tomlinson.

Per reports, the team has officially announced that the team reversed his release before it could be finalized.

When Mohamed Sanu was signed, the team needed to make a move immediately in order to bring him on and Tomlinson appeared to be be the odd man out.

Tomlinson’s not being released shows that Bill Belichick thinks he can get use out of the player. Whether it is something in the passing game or to solidify the team’ run blocking.

The Patriots now have two healthy tight ends with Ben Watson and Tomlinson, while they still await word on the health of Ryan Izzo and Matt LaCosse.
