Report: Patriots Make Surprising O-Line Cut

With David Andrews already put on season-ending IR with a blood clot in his lungs, the New England Patriots so desperately needed someone to step up and fill that void.

Bill Belichick appeared to have made the move for his replacement center, acquiring OL Russell Bodine from the Bills just six days ago.

Here we are, six days later, and the Patriots have released the former fourth-round pick out of North Carolina.

The move is shocking to say the least, as the Patriots are just two days away from opening up the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football. However, between Belichick and Scarnecchia, the Patriots should be able to prepare Ferentz enough for Week 1 so that he can be serviceable.
