Report: Patriots ‘Closely Vetting’ Quarterback

The New England Patriots have reportedly started doing due diligence at the quarterback position.

Per Aaron Wilson, the team is reportedly looking closely at Florida International University quarterback James Morgan.

Morgan, 23, threw for 2,560 yards and 14 touchdowns with five interceptions in 2019. Morgan also played in the 2020 East-West Shrine Bowl where he threw a touchdown pass.

Morgan was originally set to attend Bowling Green State University following coach Dino Babers. After Babers departed for Syracuse, Morgan transferred to Florida International.

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, teams cannot hold any physical visits or workouts with prospects.
