The Browns have taken a big blow to their receiving core. After trying to track down a Bengals defender on a Baker Mayfield interception, Odell Beckham Jr. went down in a heap grabbing at his knee. This was just two snaps into the game. The Browns did not express any speculative diagnostics and were waiting for the MRI this morning. The MRI revealed the worst for Beckham and the Browns, as the Browns star revealed that he had torn his ACL in a text with ESPN’s Josiana Anderson.

The Browns have $15.75 million on the books with Browns and essentially $13 million of that is guaranteed despite the injury. This also makes Beckham uncuttable until at least day three of next season.

Through his first seven games in 2020, Beckham had 319 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns. He also has 72 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.

The LSU product was drafted 12th overall in 2014 by the New York Giants and arrived on the scene with a bang. As a rookie, he played in 12 games accumulating 1,205 yards on 91 receptions with 12 touchdowns. The 5-foot-11 198 lb receiver was also selected to the Pro Bowl as a rookie. He also had the famous one-handed catch against the Dallas Cowboys as a rookie. Over his time in New York, he was selected to the Pro Bowl three times in three consecutive years: 2014,2015, and 2016. He was the Rookie of The Year in 2014.

In August 2018, Beckham signed a five-year $95 million contract with the Giants only to be traded to the Browns before the 2019 season. Since being traded to Cleveland, Brown has not been as advertised and has had some injury issues. The ACL is the latest addition to the injury woes for Beckham.

The Browns will be in a hole now with Beckham out.
