Report: New England Interested in Clayborn

There might be another big body heading to New England.

ESPN’s Josina Anderson tweeted out earlier today that former Atlanta Falcon defense lineman Adrian Clayborn is flying to Boston tonight to meet with the Patriots brass.

The seven-year pro out of the University of Iowa produced 9.5 sacks last year in 16 games, albeit six of them coming in a Week 10 contest against the Dallas Cowboys.

With the team acquiring Danny Shelton in a trade with the Cleveland Browns last week, this suggests that New England is certainly trying to get more penetration at the line of scrimmage.

In having interest in Clayborn, this furthers the philosophy that has been apparent the past few years in which the team targets former first round draft picks to see what it can get out of them.

It is unclear at this point what kind of salary Clayborn will command, but if something peculates you can be sure to have the latest updates here.
