Over the course of the 2018-19 season, there was a lot of buzz surrounding the potential retirement of superstar tight end Rob Gronkowski.

The man they call “Gronk” won Super Bowl LIII with uncertainty surrounding the future of his playing career. We all remember the cryptic video posted by Tom Brady on Instagram following the Patriots’ sixth Super Bowl title since 2000; which was also Gronkowski’s third career championship.

Of course, Gronkowski shrugging his shoulders and sort of “weighing the options” in the video isn’t indicative of things to come regarding the 29-year-old’s future in the NFL. However, Mike Giardi of the NFL Network did release a report this afternoon that the hulking tight end might not be on his way out after all.

Giardi does bring up an interesting point in his tweet. It could’ve just been emotion talking. Remember, Gronkowski did say after Super Bowl LII that he needed to think long and hard about his future. Then during media week ahead of Super Bowl LIII, he did say that your body can only take so many hits before it tells you “enough is enough.”

Then after winning the Super Bowl, he supposedly wants to win another?

It very well could be emotion talking. But for Patriots fans, this should definitely rile you up that the former Arizona Wildcat likely will be returning to Gillette Stadium for his age-30 season.
