Report: Former Patriots Tight End Arrested on Multiple Charges

The apple falls further and further from the proverbial tree as former New England Patriots tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. was arrested on multiple charges which include raping two women in their 50’s.

Winslow is the son of all-time great tight end Kellen Winslow Sr. The Cleveland Browns selected Winslow in the first round over Ben Roethlisberger back in 2004 after he set records at the University of Miami for his 57 receptions, 726 yards, and eight touchdowns in one season—being voted a unanimous All-American for his efforts.

However, five games into his rookie season, he suffered a broken right fibula and suffered a motorcycle accident following his second season.

Winslow made the Pro Bowl once in 2007 and although he had a few great seasons, bounced around the league to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Seattle Seahawks, the New York Jets, as well as the Patriots where he played one game catching a pass before requesting his release from the team.

Winslow violated his first victim, a 54-year-old, on March 13 and his second, a 59-year-old, exactly two months later on May 13. The names of the victims have yet to be released. 11 days after the second encounter, Winslow was alleged to have exposed himself at a public place bringing about a charge of indecent exposure.

The 34-year-old then broke into the home of a 71-year-old woman on June 1, and an 86-year-old women on June 7. He was arrested the same day and later posted bail and was released from prison.

After reports of the other crimes surfaced, Winslow was then arrested on Thursday and will be held without bail for the entirety of his trial.

If convicted Winslow could receive a maximum sentence of life in prison.
