Report: Falcons Acquire Hayden Hurst from Ravens

Hayden Hurst is headed to Atlanta.

At around 2:25 PM on March 16th, Adam Schefter reported that Hayden Hurst had been traded to the Falcons, along with the Ravens’ 2020 4th-Round pick, in exchange for Atlanta’s 2020 2nd-round pick and 2020 5th-round pick.

Hurst was previously linked to the Chicago Bears, who are currently in need of a tight end after Trey Burke, Adam Shaheen, and Ben Braunecker all ended up on free agency before the end of the season

With former Falcons TE Austin Hooper heading to Cleveland after being signed as a free agent, the Falcons need a replacement at the position. Enter Hayden Hurst, who in his second season had 30 receptions for 349 yards. The second-year product from South Carolina is in the midst of his rookie deal, signing a four year, 11 million dollar deal back in 2018. With the move to the Falcons, who are a very pass-heavy team, Hurst should expect to get more receptions, as Hooper last year caught 75 receptions and went for 787 yards.
