The baseball world holds their breath as reports have come out that former Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz was transferred to a local hospital in the Dominican Republic.
The 43-year-old was reportedly shot in the leg during a failed robbery attempt at a Santo Domingo amusement center.

The reported shooter was taken into custody.
