Eduardo Nunez was an unstoppable force at bat for the Red Sox last season, and if they do not sign him, he can join the already stacked New York Yankees.
The only issue the Red Sox are having with keeping Nunez on the roster is his proneness to injury. But with the lack of reinforcements the Red Sox have on the offensive side, it would be a huge mistake to let the solid infielder go.
With players like Hanley Ramirez and Dustin Pedroia getting injured as frequently as they did last season, it would make all the more sense to keep the hard-hitting Dominican in Boston.
The only thing that would be worse than losing Nunez is if he ends up in New York where the roster is already filled with superstars.
Adding another hard hitter would be a slap in the face to the rest of the league when they already have players like Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge.
The Red Sox are going to have to make a decision soon, because he is already a free agent, and it will take no time for teams to set up meetings with him.
It would be difficult to see a strong asset of the roster leave, especially if he ends up in New York.
