What a wild ending.
Wednesday’s Heat-Bucks game could’ve ended up badly for the Miami Heat, who made mistakes late in the game. First, Jimmy Butler turned the ball over with the Milwaukee Bucks scoring to cut the lead to two. Then, Goran Dragic fouled Khris Middleton beyond the three-point line. After Middleton made all three free throws, Butler was fouled at the last second and hit two free throws to win the game. With the win, Miami now has a commanding 2-0 lead over the Bucks.
Here are four takeaways from Wednesday’s win over the Bucks.
Dragic leads the way
There was a time when some felt Dragic was on the downside of his career. However, that hasn’t been the case so far. He was the Heat’s leading scorer in Game 2 with 23 points and has now scored at least 20 points in six straight games. Dragic did most of his damage in the first half with 17 points. When the Bucks made their run in the third period, Dragic was able to keep the Heat ahead by being aggressive.

He finished the night with 23 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
Butler still finding ways to impact the game
Before Game 2, Butler made it known he didn’t care who led the team in scoring. The only thing that mattered was the win. Following his 40-point night in Game 1, Butler only scored 13 points in Game 2. Still, Miami had six other players in double-figures, so it wasn’t needed. Butler did continue to make an impact on both ends of the floor as he took on the challenge of guarding Giannis Antetokounmpo late in the fourth period. Most importantly, he closed the game with his two made free throws.

Butler finished with 13 points, three rebounds, and six assists.
Not your typical rookie
Tyler Herro continues to be unfazed by the playoff pressure. Since the NBA restarted, Herro has looked like a totally different player. His biggest improvement has been his ability to attack the basket. Every time he dribbles the ball now, he does it with purpose. He’s very comfortable hitting shots in pressure situations too.
Herro finished the night with 17 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
Iggy leaves the game
The Heat used a nine-man rotation again with Kendrick Nunn as the ninth man. However, that would change late in the third period when Andre Iguodala landed on Kyle Korver‘s foot while attempting a three-pointer. Korver was called for a Flagrant 1 and Iguodala made two of his three free-throws before leaving the game.
That opened up playing time for Derrick Jones Jr., who provided seven good minutes. It was Jones’s first appearance in the second round.
