Notables

The Eagles have several notable rematches in 2019, with the most anticipated one being against the New England Patriots. This will be the first time the teams have met in the regular season since Philadelphia defeated New England in Super Bowl LII. Another notable rematch is the October 13 game against Minnesota. This will be the first time the Eagles have played in Minnesota since they won the Super Bowl there. Lastly, another interesting rematch is against the Bears. The Eagles defeated Chicago 16-15 in the wild-card round of the playoffs last season. This was the notorious “Double-Doink” game for Chicago, in which kicker Cody Parkey hit the upright twice on the game’s final kick.

Strength of Schedule

The Eagles have one of the weaker schedules in the NFL in the upcoming season. However, that is simply based off of the win-loss records from the previous season. Free agency and the NFL draft will definitely have an impact on the upcoming slate. For example, the Jets have added Le’veon Bell, and have a chance to be much improved this season. Still, Philly has to be happy about their schedule this upcoming season.
