Patriots’ Fears Come True

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has a compete ACL tear in his right knee, per Albert Breer.

The move will sideline Tom Brady’s go-to target for the entire 2017-18 season.

The Kent State product went down on this move during the first drive of the Patriots 30-28 preseason win over the Detroit Lions Friday night.

Edelman, who signed a two-year, $11 million contract extension in January, had 98 receptions for 1,106 yards and three touchdowns last season. In the postseason, the 5-foot-10 wideout averaged 16.3 yards a catch – snagging 21 balls for 342 yards.

Time will tell who can fill Edelman’s void.
