The National Hockey League announced today that Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak was named the first star of the week.

Pastrnak topped the NHL in goals (seven) and points (points) this past week, recording multiple points in all three of his appearances.

In a 4-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Oct. 14, Pastrnak scored all four of Boston’s goals and posted his fifth career hat trick, registering the 25th four-goal performance in Bruins history.

In a 4-3 shootout loss against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Oct. 17, the 23-year-old factored on each of Boston’s goals.

He then went on to add another multi-point night recording a goal and an assist in a 4-3 overtime loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Oct. 19.
