It’s no secret that Odell Beckham, Jr. and the New England Patriots have had a flirtatious relationship for the past few years. That potential budding partnership started with Beckham and Tom Brady sharing comments and likes back and forth on each other’s social media posts.

Whether it’s finishing rap lyrics by commenting on each others’ posts, Beckham saying how much he loves Brady, the quarterback jokingly telling Beckham to “come to Foxboro,” or the wideout giving Brady goat-skinned shoes as a gift after a game, there is a very clear and friendly connection between the two.
But that potential connection has now been shared by offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels.
When McDaniels interviewed for the Cleveland Browns’ coaching job, he spoke about how he wanted to work on the relationship and on-field chemistry between quarterback Baker Mayfield and Beckham. The Cleveland brass turned that down, saying they wanted to shift to more of a “run-first” type of an offense. But there was a clear and apparent excitement for McDaniels to be able to use Beckham in an offense based around a connection between receiver and quarterback.
McDaniels was ultimately passed up for the position and is now back with the Patriots. If McDaniels had some sort of plan to deploy a Beckham-centric offense, what’s to say that he isn’t in the ear of Bill Belichick right now, laying out his offensive design with Beckham catching passes from Brady? Belichick said last off-season that he values the opinion of McDaniels. If he can make a strong case, Belichick may make a move to try to get the talented receiver to New England.
There is already the foundation of friendship between Beckham and the starting quarterback (assuming he returns to New England), so why not build off that and give Brady his best receiving threat this side of Randy Moss?
Of course, there is also the news about a warrant being out for Beckham’s arrest due to an incident in the LSU locker room involving a police officer.

The incident itself isn’t the worst thing we’ve seen from the receiver, but it adds to the list of actions that may cause the Browns to move on from the talented wideout.
And if that’s the case, the Patriots will most likely come sniffing around to see what the asking price for the receiver may be.
The Giants received a first- and third-round draft pick, along with Jabrill Peppers, when they traded Beckham to the Browns. It is not out of the realm of possibility that the Patriots would package a few of their upcoming picks in this year’s draft with a player to see if they could get the Browns to bite.
It would all come down to if and how badly the Browns want to move from him. Given that the organization is interested in running the ball more, there’s a possibility that they may shop Beckham around and see what they could get, especially given the fact that they already have Jarvis Landry and tight end David Njoku on their roster.
Odell Beckham, Jr. catching passes from Tom Brady on the Patriots in 2020 is certainly not something you’d want to move all your chips in on, but taking a look at what’s been happening over the years, the potential of this move is at an all-time high.
