The Oakland Raiders have re-signed running back Jalen Richard, the deal was announced on Wednesday. About a month ago, Richard was assigned a second-round tender to keep teams away.

Richard joined the Raiders in 2016 when he signed as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Miss. He impressed Raider coaches at the rookie minicamp try out that year.

In 2018, Richard had 68 catches, which tied with Jared Cook for the team lead in receptions. Along with the catches, he added 607 receiving yards. In Richard career with the Raiders, he has rushed for 1025 yards and caught 124 passes for 1057 yards. In addition those stats, he added six total touchdowns.

Coach Jon Gruden’s offense involves throwing the ball to the running backs a lot. Therefore, signing Richard back was a high priority, as he is the Raiders top pass-catching running back. The only thing Richard needs to work on is to not put the ball on the ground so much, he has fumbled 11 times in the last two seasons.
